Meet Michael Morell, A Deep Stater with a Mission

Commentary

Chances are good that you’ve never heard of Michael J. Morell, so allow me to introduce you to him, because you’ll soon be seeing him mentioned frequently in the news, and you need to know why.

Morell is one of the 51 former intelligence officers who signed a letter suggesting the Hunter Biden laptop was part of a Russian disinformation operation.  He was put on notice that he would be called to testify before the House Judiciary Committee by chairman Rep. Jim Jordan.

DEEP STATER MICHAEL MORELL (Politico)

Reportedly, Morell was more than a signee.  He organized the letter and sought 50 other former intel officers to sign it and get it into the media’s hands just days before the 2020 election to mitigate the damage from the New York Post’s explosive coverage of the laptop.

The complicit leftist media didn’t bother to authenticate the letter or contact the signees and candidate Joe Biden gladly used the letter during a debate with Donald Trump, representing it as an endorsement by the 51 signees.

The Mendacious Morell

You need to know a bit about Morell’s background to understand why he was the logical individual to pull this letter together.

Until the recent deep state attempt to bring down the presidency of Trump, the names of intelligence officers were not household names as they were rarely in the news.

Morell served as the deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency and twice as its acting director between 2010 and 2013 under President Obama.

In 2014, during Congressional testimony about the terrorist attack on our Benghazi compound that resulted in the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, he vehemently denied accusations that he edited the talking points given to Susan Rice prior to her appearances on five Sunday news shows.

You may recall that the CIA and the Obama administration, specifically Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, were under fire in the failure to respond appropriately to the attack.

On August 5, 2016, Morell used his position with the CIA writing an op-ed in the New York Times with the headline reading, “I Ran the CIA. Now I’m Endorsing Hillary Clinton.”

“During a 33-year career at the Central Intelligence Agency I served presidents of both parties,” he began, stating that he had “always remained silent about my preference for president.  No longer. On Nov. 8, I will vote for Hillary Clinton.  Between now and then, I will do everything I can to ensure that she is elected as our 45th president.

“In sharp contrast to Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Trump has no experience on national security. Even more important, the character traits he has exhibited during the primary season suggest that he would be a poor, even dangerous, commander in chief.”

Morell’s use of his CIA title was again used in The Atlantic, August 5, 2016 – “Why a Former CIA Chief Says Trump is a ‘Threat’ to National Security “– with a lead-in stating, “Michael Morell the latest in a string of ex-national security officials to back Hillary Clinton as he embraces an image centered in defense.”

While his fellow deep stater colleagues in the FBI were doing their best to keep Trump from the presidency, Morell, just two weeks prior to Election Day, spoke with reporters about Trump’s ties to Russia.  “The definition of a patriot is someone who puts the nation above everything in his life.  In the that regard, Donald Trump is not a patriot.”

He and his fellow leftists failed. Trump was surprisingly elected president.

When the news of Hunter Biden’s laptop surfaced in 2019, the FBI sat on it, not wanting its contents to scare voters from electing Joe Biden president in 2020, but the explosive piece in the New York Post just weeks before the election called for action from the deep state.

On October 19, 2020, Morell’s letter, signed by 50 of his intel buddies, opened with the familiar use of their positions – “We are all individuals who devoted significant portions of our lives to national security.”  All of their intel titles were listed with their names.

The letter was written to convince the media that the laptop emails had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,” but they had no evidence. The letter served the purpose by providing the media, Democrats and the social media censors what they needed to suppress the story.

That didn’t stop Joe Biden from using the word of 51 former intel officers during a nationally broadcast debate.

LIAR JIM CLAPPER (Washington Examiner)

With Jim Clapper and John Brennan in as on-camera analysts at CNN and MSNBC, they were able to repeat that “all the earmarks” line over and over.

Just this week, Clapper claimed that the message of the “dirty 51” was distorted by the media.  “All we were doing was raising a yellow flag that this could be Russian disinformation.”

For the record, not one of the “dirty 51” apologized once the legitimacy of the laptop contents was revealed.

Arguably, the year-long suppression of the laptop contents by the FBI and the ”dirty 51” October surprise letter, conceivably kept Trump from winning in 2020.

Now you know Michael Morell.  You’ll be hearing more from him, hopefully under oath.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
