Recalling the concern I had about Ben Rhodes
We learned that the New York Times will be publishing a story on Sunday about Ben Rhodes, a foreign policy advisor to President Obama, duping the public on the Iran nuclear deal by creating a false narrative. According to leaked information, the story will reveal how Rhodes pushed information leading us to believe the administration was dealing with Iranian moderates, while we were actually talking to the ayatollahs. Legacy-minded Obama hands GOP campaign issues
It’s amusing to see President Obama, so set on his legacy of met campaign promises that he doesn’t see that his failures not only doom his legacy, but hand the eventual Republican nominee issue upon issue to use against Hillary Clinton.

Unfortunately, in the process of his attempt to transform our nation, he is destroying the fabric of America. And he still has 13 months to complete his mission.
His lack of a foreign policy has made the United States a laughing stock. His feckless inability to commit to a strategy to rid the Middle East of ISIS and al Qaeda is further evidence of his failure to use the military power at his disposal.
The nuclear agreement with Iran is so important to the president’s legacy that he’s willing to sign it regardless that it doesn’t stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, and will provide Iran with billions of dollars to pursue its “death to America and Israel” goal.

Mismanagement and poor judgment are not a crime said a DOJ report on its investigation of Lois Lerner and the IRS targeting of conservative groups. (worldmag.com)
In his letter regarding the investigation of Lois Lerner and the IRS to the House Judiciary Committee, Kadzik stated that “What occurred is disquieting and may necessitate corrective action; and while they found mismanagement and poor judgement, (they found) no evidence that would support a criminal prosecution.”
While the work of the Select Committee on Benghazi is yet to be completed, Kadzik’s statement reminded me of one of the findings of the Accountability Review Board on Benghazi. Continue reading

While perusing the daily newspaper this morning, my attention was drawn to the This Day in History column featuring President Richard Nixon’s Aug. 8, 1974 resignation.

Over the years I have often considered Nixon’s transgressions to be foolish and clumsy to say the least, but it led to his impeachment and key members of his administration went to jail.
Hardly a day goes by, however, that I don’t see the actions of President Obama equally or more egregious than those of Nixon. But when you look back to the 1970s, reporters Woodward and Bernstein had the backing of their powerful newspaper, The Washington Post, to uncover the deeds of Nixon and his men.
You can ask, where the Woodward’s and Bernstein’s are today, but you soon come to your senses and realize that Nixon openly scorned the media and President Obama owns the media. Today, The Washington Post might tweak the Obama administration by giving the president or Hillary Clinton four Pinocchio’s. Continue reading
Another jobs promise by the president
“The Clean Power Plan will drive significant new investment in cleaner more modern and more efficient technologies, creating tens of thousands of jobs.” – President Obama
Just how stupid does the president think we are? His $800 billion stimulus was supposed to “save or create more than 3.5 million jobs,” but 1.5 million jobs were lost in the two years following the stimulus enactment. He later had to admit that “shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected.”
I wonder if the people protesting in Washington DC for more green jobs were aware that the EPA would be hiring some 800 people to serve as regulators, who will be killing jobs across the country. (21stcenturyapprecticeshiiopworkforce3one.org)
The $20 billion in green technology funding was supposed “to create the jobs of the future,” but those “efforts to stimulate creation of green jobs have largely failed,” reported the New York Times. A $500 million Labor Department program to train workers for green jobs was designed to place 80,000 workers in energy efficiency or renewable energy careers, but reportedly just 8,000 found work in the two years following the program start. When a national scandal hits close to home
I’ve often wondered why people I know and meet do not seem to be as outraged as I am when it comes to the scandals emanating from the Obama administration.
One view might be that some of them have soured on politics, and see the scandals of one kind or another as common no matter what the political party. Others are simply oblivious to the news and have become part of the low-information crowd, like the Iowa Democrats who see Hillary Clinton as honest and trustworthy.

After considerable thought, I don’t believe there is a single answer, but I wonder if it’s because they are so removed from the events that they falsely believe those scandals don’t affect them personally. They just cannot relate to the Benghazi lies, the IRS targeting of conservative groups, the $6 billion unaccounted for in the State Department, the Lerner and Clinton e-mails, and the executive orders on illegal immigrants. Will Obama’s intimidation of the court backfire?
In a January post, I indicated my concern that the Supreme Court would decide in favor of the administration in King v Burwell, the ObamaCare case challenging an IRS rule granting tax credits to individuals in the 34 states that didn’t adopt a state exchange.
My position hasn’t changed in the subsequent six months. Perhaps it’s the unending string of bad news emanating from the nation’s capital that causes my pessimism.
The president, obviously concerned that his already crumbling key piece of legislation will go down in a court decision, soon to be announced, has again directed unprecedented criticism toward the court.
During a press conference at the G-7 summit in Germany earlier this month, he suggested the court would be ignoring established legal guidance if it ruled against the administration. “This should be an easy case, “he said, “frankly it probably should have stayed out of this fight.” So much for our Constitutional genius in the White House.
Speaking at the Catholic Health Association conference, he warned, “Do they (the court) really wish to cause the massive societal upheaval that would come from killing a law that is now a routine part of American life?” Continue reading
Progressives pushing for more handouts
There he stood – New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio – on the steps of the nation’s Capitol, flanked by the most liberal of liberals, including Al Sharpton and Representatives Raul Grijalva, John Conyers, Barbara Lee and Keith Ellison, all purveyors of the “taker” culture.
By now you have most likely heard about his 13-point Progressive Agenda, his attack on income inequality, recommending what he calls bold steps to make a difference for ”every day Americans.” He jumps from increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour, national paid sick leave and paid family leave, universal pre-K and after school programs and childcare, to closing tax loopholes that allow CEOs and hedge fund managers and billionaires to avoid – are you ready for it – “paying their fair share in taxes.”
