Not Alone in Quest to Reveal Pending Failure of Biden Administration’s All-Electric Fantasy

Commentary

“The auto companies might deserve sympathy if their executives hadn’t become political supplicants. In addition to lobbying for subsidies, they intervened to defend the administration’s recent emission standards against a legal challenge by GOP state attorney’s general.

“They sold themselves out to the government for subsidies, and now they are pleading for more subsidies to meet its mandates.”read more

Biden Seeks Expansion of Big Government in Forgettable State of the Union Address

Commentary

As a political news wonk, I look forward to each State of the Union address in search of a memorable line or two that Americans can hang their hat on.

The day and morning before the address, news anchors repeatedly ask their guests what they think the president will say, and what he should say. … read more

‘Just Whistling in the Wind’

Commentary

Sure, you’ve heard that phrase before.  So have I.

While researching its origins, I found this appropriate meaning for its usage:

“If you describe someone as whistling in the wind, you mean they are trying unsuccessfully to change something which cannot be changed.”

It’s appropriate because it applies to the effort to have us believe that wind power is capable of supplying us with a reasonable generation of electricity cheaper than fossil fuels.… read more

Recognizing Democrats Who Foolishly Predicted Doomsday Over Trump’s Tax Cuts in 2017

Commentary

By now, regular readers of Kramerontheright are familiar with my selection of a “Fool of the Month,” not just on April 1, but on the first day of every month.

When I saw the Washington Examiner headline – “It’s Official: Trump’s tax cuts paid for themselves” – I was reminded of the Democrats who got hysterical over the cuts, and I thought ‘who better to recognize as my February 1, “Fool(s) of the Month” in memory of their hysterics in 2017?’… read more

Another Look at Davos … Biden ‘Transparency’ … Union Membership Down … Wealth Accumulation in Congress … Wind and Solar Snags … and the Top Ten Singers of All Time

Commentary

Here are a few topics I selected from my stack of stuff.

A Davos Follow Up

If you read my January 24, 2023 commentary on the humor from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, you will appreciate Gerard Baker’s thoughts from his Wall Street Journal column.

While noting that trying to forecast the state of the world by gauging the mood of its participants is about as valuable an exercise as flipping a coin, Baker referenced a 50-year analysis by Financial Times in which the publication found that the consensus of the elites who gather there each year is as likely to be wrong as right.… read more

Another Look at Responsibility and Accountability

Commentary

Just as I respond to opposing opinions, I like to occasionally call your attention to other writers who agree with me.

Checking my archives in each of the first three months of this year, I devoted space to the subject of responsibility and accountability, usually in disgust of leaders, military and civilian, who failed to accept either.… read more

Kramerontheright Reader Service for Subscribers

Commentary

I do considerable research of the media, in print and online, in an effort to produce a blog that gives you my commentary on what’s making news, and in the process, I often run across things I think you may have missed.  Here’s what I found.

Hillary’s Role in the Russia Smear

I almost didn’t read a Wall Street Journal op-ed about Hillary Clinton and the Russia hoax by Douglas Schoen and Andrew Stein, because both are Democrats, and I assumed it would consist of leftist talking points. … read more

On Biden’s First Day in Office, a ‘Click of a Switch’ Was Easy

 Commentary

“There’s a lot going on right now, but the idea we’re gonna be able to, you know, click a switch, bring down the cost of gasoline is not likely in the near term, nor is with regard to food.” – President Biden, June 1, 2022

That’s odd, on January 20, 2021, his first day in office, he was able to “click a switch” that effectively ended our energy independence.… read more
