Leave it to the liberal news media to side with Colin Kaepernick, the San Francisco 49er’s second or third rated quarterback, who refused to stand during the playing of the national anthem during a recent pre-season game. Continue reading

Hillary mocks Trump’s view of the plight of blacks
“Dwayne Wade’s cousin shot dead while pushing her baby in stroller on South Side.”– Chicago Tribune, Aug. 27, 2016
There stood Hillary Clinton, speaking before a predominantly white audience in Reno, Nev. this week, scoffing at Donald Trump’s comment that “you walk down the street and get shot, and mocking his description of black communities in insulting terms – “poverty, horrible education, no housing, no homes, no ownership, high crime levels.” Two days later the above headline appeared in the Chicago Tribune. Comey’s protection of Hillary Clinton serves to encourage WikiLeaks’ Assange
I found it interesting that Fox’s Chris Wallace, commenting on the prospect of an October surprise based on documents that might be supplied by Julian Assange of WikiLeaks, found it “highly distasteful” that we are anxiously awaiting them to see how they will affect our presidential race. Fitton and Bossie; the new Woodward and Bernstein
Tom Fitton and David Bossie aren’t readily recognized household names, but you can thank them for doing what Woodward and Bernstein, of All the President’s Men book on Watergate, have abdicated. Continue reading
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t
Since he entered the presidential race, Donald Trump has been heavily criticized for his brash, shoot-from-the-hip campaign speeches. Those who are fed up with “old Washington” loved it. Continue reading
Safire called it right 20 years ago
“Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady – a woman of undoubted talents who was a role model for many in her generation – is a congenital liar.” – William Safire, Jan. 8, 1996
Trump should forget the media
Two individuals writing letters to the editor of my daily newspaper complained about media coverage of the presidential election, but as someone who has been a longtime observer of the media, I must say that while they presented valid complaints, it’s all for naught. And someone needs to explain that to Donald Trump. Continue reading
Hillary’s flawed character revisited
A lot has been written about Donald Trump’s character, especially with his comments about the appearance of Khizr Khan and his wife, Ghazala, a Gold Star Mother, at the Democrat convention. However, have you noticed how the media has ignored Hillary Clinton’s character flaw in responding to a mother and father of sons killed in the Benghazi attack? Continue reading
Liberals vs conservatives
The signs supporting Bernie Sanders – “Feel the Bern” and “A Future to Believe In” – have all but disappeared and have been replaced with Hillary Clinton’s “Together Stronger” and “Love Trumps Hate” signs at the Democrat convention. And “love” has found its way into nearly every speech. Continue reading
Roped in by a headline writer
“The GOP Has Its Own Nanny State Dream,” read the headline over a guest editorial by Catherine Rampell of the Washington Post. Obviously, the far-fetched headline caught my attention. Continue reading
