A Weekend of Quotable Quotes

WHY, GEORGE, WHY?

I thought it made sense that George W. Bush accepted an invitation to speak at the 9/11 memorial service in Shanksville, Pennsylvania on the occasion of the event’s 20th anniversary.

Since leaving office, “W” has pretty much refrained from making political statements, often referring to the presidents’ “brotherhood.”… read more

The Sorry State of Affairs with Blinken at State

Commentary

I recently wrote of my disappointment in the Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton retreads who are advising President Biden, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who you may recall “midwifed” the transfer of pallets of cash to Iran as part of the nuclear deal.

BIDEN AND BLINKEN TOGETHER AGAIN (Gulf news)

As I watched Binken’s unemotional, teleprompter-aided speech on Monday, I was reminded of Scott Johnson’s PowerLine reporting of Blinken’s August 26, 2021 press briefing, in which he described him as representing the “face of defeat,” while trying to proclaim success with the withdrawal mission.… read more

Arizona’s Senators in Key Infrastructure Roles

Commentary

I ask for your indulgence with this blog piece as I focus on Arizona politics.  I wouldn’t do it, however, if it didn’t have national meaning and consequences.

Our two senators, Democrats Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly, need no introduction.  They’ve been in the news lately because they hold the key votes if the Democrats are going to pass the $3.5 trillion bill.… read more

“Ah, there’s good news tonight.”

Commentary

GABRIEL HEATTER
(Courtesy quotesgram)

Long before I became interested in politics, I recall listening to Gabriel Heatter, a radio commentator, with my Dad.  With all of the news we are facing, I decided to borrow Heatter’s famous line – “Ah there’s good news tonight” – that he adopted as his catchphrase.… read more

Biden’s Disingenuous Remark as Commander-in-Chief

Commentary

You’ve heard President Biden conclude his speeches with “and may God protect our troops.”  I would hope he’s serious, but how can we believe him when he left out any mention of God in his National Prayer Day proclamation?

Then there’s this. On Friday, as he concluded his remarks to service members and their families during his appearance at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia, I wondered how many in the audience took him seriously when he said:

“It’s my greatest honor … it should not surprise anybody; it should be anybody’s greatest honor in all of life … to be able to serve as your Commander-in-Chief.read more

Targeting RINOs Key to GOP Retaking House and Senate

Commentary

TARGETING RINOS IN 2022 – I had high hopes for Adam Kinzinger in 2009, a Republican returning from his third tour of duty with the Air Force in Iraq, deciding to run and unseat Democrat Debbie Halvorson in Illinois.  He was consulting with the right people, Congressmen Mike Pence and Peter Roskam.read more

Seriously … It’s Get a Backbone Time for America

Commentary

In my last blog, I encouraged conservative Republicans to end their passivity, and stand up against those who are transforming America, the Biden administration and those on the left in the media, academia, and entertainment.

We simply cannot wait until the 2022 midterms to retake the House and Senate. Look at the damage Biden has done in his first 100 days.… read more

COMMENTARY: Biden Administration’s Foreign Policy Off to a Rocky Start … China Pokes Its Finger in Our Eye

BIDEN’S TEAM TAKEN TO THE CLEANERS – President Biden’s Obama and Clinton hand-me-down foreign policy representatives – Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan – had their hats handed to them during talks with the Chinese communists in Anchorage, Alaska.

“I don’t think the overwhelming majority of countries in the world would recognize the universal values advocated by the United States or that the viewpoint of the United States could represent international public opinion,” said  Yang Jiechi, a member of the Chinese Communist Party’s Politburo, reportedly a clear indication that the CCP will no longer abide by the rules set by the United States.… read more

‘The Vote’ … from the GOP’s future, fraud in Mississippi, the left’s effort to kill photo-IDs, and Senator Sinema’s noteworthy thumbs down vote

Commentary

WELCOME NEWS – A dozen members of the 150-member Republican Study Committee met last week with former Vice President Mike Pence to hash out conservative priorities for the party with some internal division as to who will lead it, according to Susan Ferrechio of the Washington Examiner.

In discussions on the agenda going forward, they indicated it would center on the usual GOP issues – national defense, anti-abortion policies and election security – it would center on advocating and defending the Trump administration record.… read more
