The media, Dem scare tactic, the First Lady, and more …

Here are a few brief stories you may have missed.

THE OBAMA MEDIA DIFFERENCE – In an interesting piece written by Julie Kelly for The Federalist, “When President Obama’s National Security Advisor Lied, The Media Laughed, “she writes about the irony of Michael Flynn’s lie and the repeated Sunday news show lies of Susan Rice.

In a press gaggle aboard Air Force One the day after the Rice lies, Kelly reported that not one reporter asked about Rice’s appearances, and there was no discussion about the investigation and no discussion about emerging evidence that Benghazi was indeed attacked by terrorists.

What subjects did the reporters advance? Debate prep, Occupy Wall Street, the Chicago teachers’ strike, golf, football and “Saturday Night Live.” “Never was the media’s complicit sheep-like coverage more evident than it was the days after Benghazi,” wrote Kelly, “behavior you can never imagine now.”

Meanwhile, Flynn’s lie stays alive in the media, where hypocrisy, double-standard, and outright lies by the media covering the Trump administration continue.

IGNORE THOSE RUMORS OF FOREIGN DISLIKE OF TRUMP – During the presidential election campaign you will recall how Hillary Clinton and President Obama attempted to scare voters by referring to the concerns of foreign leaders over a potential Trump presidency. True? Maybe, but looking back to a June 2010 U.S. News & World Report article by Mort Zuckerman, I noted that “the world sees Obama as incompetent and amateur.” Calling Obama’s performance disappointing, Zuckerman reported that Obama “seemed uncomfortable in the role of leading other nations, and often seems to suggest there is nothing special about America’s role in the world.”

In Britain, for decades our closest ally, the press talked about the end of a special relationship. French President Nicolas Sarkozy openly criticized Obama, which caused Zuckerman to say, “When the French president is seen as tougher than the American president, you have to know that something is awry.”

When charges of Obama’s incompetence surfaced, even the left-leaning Joe Scarborough related that top Democrats in the Senate told him, “This guy has no idea what he’s doing.”

In his first month in office, President Trump has successfully met with the prime ministers of England, Canada, Japan and Israel.

ORIGINATORS OF FAKE NEWS CAUTIONEDThe Federalist Senior Editor Mollie Hemmingway, said, “Journalists, media types, reporters, you have two choices: you can fix these problems, or you can watch your profession go down in flames.” Referring to fake news as “an epidemic,” she detailed 16 fake news stories carried since Donald Trump won the presidency.

WHEN THE FIRST LADY opened the president’s Melbourne, Florida rally with the Lord’s Prayer, I predicted to my wife, “That’s great, but it’s not going to go over well with the left.” The crowd went wild with applause, but as expected, not everybody appreciated it. The viciousness and intolerance of those who want to deny us religious freedom emerged in the media criticizing her delivery and mocking her accent. “If you have to read this prayer, you’re not a Christian,” one claimed. “With an hour’s practice I could probably say the Lord’s Prayer better in Slovene better than Melania Trump does it in English,” another ridiculed.

“Other people saw it as the latest sign that the Trumps were turning the page on eight long years of faith-based hostility. Let’s hope so.” – Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council

“High Five Fridays” are no longer permitted at elementary schools in Northampton, Massachusetts. (dailymail.co.uk)

NO MORE “HIGH FIVES” – A program known as “High Five Fridays,” designed to build  rapport between the police and elementary school children in Northampton, Massachusetts, has been scrapped because of a handful of complaints.  It seems as though there was a concern that blacks and immigrant children were not comfortable around the uniformed policemen – the very feeling the police and school administrators was trying to change.  Northampton is located in Hampshire County, that voted 66 to 26 for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.  Surprised? Leftist PC is alive and well in Massachusetts.

“HE CAME OUT AND DIDN’T HAVE HORNS,” remarked Charles Krauthammer of Steve Bannon’s appearance at the CPAC conference Thursday. The media has regularly painted Bannon as the devil incarnate.
