Here are my observations and opinions on my select news of the day.
THE HATE-TRUMP MOVEMENT continues among Democrats, the media and “troubled” celebrities in response to President Trump’s decision to take another terrorist leader off the battlefield. They simply cannot give him credit for anything.
“Trump was angered by the Iranian-led assault on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad and chose the ‘most extreme option’ offered by military aides,” said Helene Cooper, the New York Times’ Pentagon correspondent, as if she was privy to the options given the commander-in-chief. She wasn’t.
“This is something that the American Defense Department, quite tragically almost, is very good at doing. We know how to kill people,” she added, during her appearance on Monday’s “The Daily” podcast.
On Monday’s ABC’s Good Morning America show, Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz, her head covered in deference to Muslims, appeared to be near tears, as she sorrowfully marveled at the anti-American protests, calling them a “powerful combination of grief and anger,” while hyping the “mourners paying tribute” to a “revered” American killer.
Anchors George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts followed her report trashing Trump, touting Democrats who are upset by the air strike, according to Kristine Marsh of MRC’s Newsbusters.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo cut short MSNBC anchor and foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell’s attempt to stir the pot over the administration’s intention of harming Persian culture, asking him whether he would advise the president against targeting cultural sites.
“Let me tell you who has done damage to the Persian culture – it is not the United States of America, it is the ayatollah,” Pompeo snapped back. “Persian culture is rich and steeped in history and intellect, and (the ayatollahs) have denied the capacity for that culture to continue,” while pointing out that “clerics have not allowed Iranian citizens to celebrate Persian holidays.”
Incidentally, be thankful that Pompeo has put on the back burner any interest in running for office in Kansas. He has the ear of President Trump and will give him proper guidance.
Leftist reporter Missy Ryan, who covers the Pentagon, military issues and national security for the Washington Post, couldn’t resist taking a swipe at President Trump, according to Phil Shiver of theblaze.com, calling it a “blatantly pro-Iran and anti-American post.” She tweeted side-by-side photos of Iranians in Tehran mourning Soleimani’s death and President Trump’s inaugural crowd.
While the New York Times obituary for Soleimani @NYTObits, read “Qassim Suleimani, Master of Iran’s Intrigue and Force, Dies at 62,” an obituary for the late Sam Wyche, former coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, included that Wyche “was fined by the National Football League for barring a female reporter from the team’s locker room.” It comes under the heading of “fake news.”
Referencing the president’s statement that the attack on our embassy in Baghdad wasn’t going to be another Benghazi, the Washington Post’s David Nakamura, referred to “two Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stephens, were killed. Of course, patriotic Republicans know that there were four fatalities in Benghazi as a result of Hillary Clinton’s refusal to upgrade security after numerous requests.
Finally, anti-Trumper George Lopez, who suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome, responding to the $80 million bounty on the president mentioned on Instagram, replying “We’ll do it for half.”
“It seems like about 20 minutes ago we were denouncing these very people in the “Deep State” and pledging to never again trust them without verification. But now, for some reason, we do seem to trust them implicitly and completely,” said Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson.
Yes, there may be some Obama holdovers still advising us in intelligence, but we have three Trump appointees at point – Mike Pompeo, Mark Esper and Gen. Mark Milley – advising the president.
LET’S GET SERIOUS – Democrats, led by Chuck Schumer, would have you believe that President Trump is hell bent to getting us into war with Iran. It’s part of their strategy, along with the impeachment, to paint him as an irresponsible commander-in-chief not worthy of reelection in November.
The New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN and MSNBC are all trying to stir public discontent over the Trump’s decision to kill the terrorist Soleimani with stories that the president “stunned” Pentagon officials when he made that decision. Further, they want you to believe he never considered the ramifications of making that decision.
The media reported that at least two “top military officials” have said they were “flabbergasted” by the president’s call,” but without revealing their source. They commonly refer to anonymous sources. They are doing their utmost to continue their narrative of a president who is impulsive and crazy.
“The Pentagon does not present a president with military options that’s ramifications have not been considered, nor does the chairman of the Joint Chiefs every present the president with a fake option,” writes Christopher Bedford in The Federalist.
THERE’S MORE – The media wants you to believe that the Iraqi Parliament has called for the expulsion of our troops from their country. In their reports you have to go several paragraphs into their reports – 14 paragraphs in the Los Angeles Times – to learn that the resolution is non-binding. More fake news. We are not ready to leave Iraq now, and will leave on our terms.
A FEEBLE RESPONSE with missiles fired from Iran was occurring as I was preparing to post this report. No American casualties were reported. With the precise targeting of the Saudi oil refinery in September 2019, one wonders if the Tuesday night strike on our base in Iraq was intended to avoid American deaths.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
