As Joe Biden continues to select members of his administration in the White House and the Cabinet, I recall his commitment that they would look like the country. He has already claimed that his initial nominees already constitute “the most diverse Cabinet in American history.”
“The Biden appointment process reminds us that diversity in practice is preponderantly political, which is to say, divisive.” – Dan Henninger, Wall Street Journal
What does that portend for the success of his administration, and his policies? Especially when a number of them bring with them baggage from the Obama White House.
The concern comes from Biden’s appearance on ABC’s The View early last year, when he said the thing he was most proud of about the Obama-Biden administration was that there was “not one single whisper of scandal.”
Of course, there were numerous scandals – Hillary Clinton’s e-mails and her Benghazi failure resulting in the loss of four lives, including an ambassador, the IRS targeting of conservation organizations, Fast and Furious, Solyndra and the tracking AP reporters and Fox’s James Rosen.
To make matters worse, he brings his own Biden family scandal with him as he begins his first term.
Since making this “no scandals” statement on The View, we have learned that Biden took part in an Oval Office meeting on January 5, 2017 to strategize the FBI’s scheme to implicate Michael Flynn and candidate Donald Trump in their goal of proving guilt of colluding with Russia.
A newly declassified document revealed that Obama personally targeted Flynn during that meeting and his administration was actively spying on the Trump team as part of “Crossfire Hurricane.”
In the end, Biden and his Deep Staters brought scandal on themselves while failing in their attempt to scandalize the Trump presidency.
Ironically, it was Susan Rice, who Biden recently named to be his domestic policy advisor, who not only participated in that meeting, but attempted to protect attendees with a CYA e-mail written just hours before Trump’s inauguration, citing Obama’s insistence that things were done “by the book.”
Rice also carries with her the baggage of misrepresenting the facts surrounding the 2012 attack on our Benghazi compound while appearing on five Sunday network television news shows. She was assigned to provide cover for Obama, who, in just weeks, would be seeking reelection.
In 2014, Rice disgracefully proclaimed that Sergeant Beau Bergdahl served the U.S. with “honor and distinction.”
However, Rice is but one of the flawed appointees of the Obama-Biden administration with less than impressive records of performance, and questionable actions.
One of the more obvious in Biden’s early picks was his naming of the feckless John Kerry to a newly appointed cabinet position as climate envoy. Of course, it was Kerry who negotiated the grand terrorist country giveaway, the Iran nuclear deal, known more for what it didn’t cover. Now the U.S. checkbook will be open to support the grandiose green new deal and our reentry into the Paris Accord.
Denis McDonough, who Biden selected to head the VA, was Obama’s chief of staff during the Benghazi coverup, Obama’s apology tour, and most recently during his Syrian “red line” cave.
That Biden plans to make climate change his top priority, is evidenced in his naming of Obama’s controversial EPA head, Gina McCarthy, as his national climate advisor, and former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm as energy secretary. One wonders about the decision-making process on issues with Kerry as climate envoy.
There will be those who will come with little or no experience for the positions they will be assuming, ala Hunter Biden with Burisma.
What will Pete Buttigieg bring to Transportation as the mayor of a medium-size city? Today, he allows Biden to check off the LGQBT+ box and youngest transportation secretary in history box from his “look of the country” agenda.
Word from the Swamp is that former Obama UN Ambassador Samantha Power wants in with Biden. “Power’s return would be another signal Biden plan to operate his White House as Obama’s third term,” according to Sumantra Maitra in The Federalist.
A globalist, Power recently wrote an essay for Foreign Affairs, outlining what she thinks should be Biden’s future foreign policy, including “U.S. leadership must play a central role in tackling climate change and other shared global problems whose solutions demand both expertise and effective coalition building.”
Reportedly, Biden plans to select a top teacher’s union official to the Secretary of Education position currently held by Betsy DeVos. Biden has pledged to undo many of the changes DeVos made, including putting back in place reforms made under Obama that limit federal funding to for-profit institutions based on student debt and salary levels.
“It could take the Biden administration years to undo those reforms because of the processes by which the federal policies may be changed in a way that will withstand legal scrutiny,” wrote Todd Spangler of the Detroit Free Press.
When questioned about the look of an Obama third term in Biden’s administration, Biden said, “We face a totally different world than we faced in the Obama-Biden administration. President Trump has changed the landscape.”
Yes, and most of the world knows that President Trump was elected because of the miserable performance of the Obama-Biden administration.
Look for ties to Obama in Biden’s future selections. I see Obama III on the horizon, and you-know-who behind the curtain pulling the strings.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
