RINO George W. Bush has Joined the Left in Stopping Donald Trump

Commentary

In my September 12, 2021 post, “Why, George, Why,” I wrote about the gratuitous slap George W. Bush took at Trump supporters while speaking at the 9/11 memorial ceremony in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, comparing the 9/11 terrorists with the January 6, 2021 Capitol rioters.

“We have seen growing evidence that the dangers to our country can come not only across borders but from violence that gathers within. They are the children of the same foul spirit.”

I wasn’t alone with that opinion.

“Bush’s jaw dropper was his oblique comparison of the 19 terrorists who hijacked four commercial airliners on 9/11 with the rioters who descended on the Capitol on January 6,” wrote Washington Examiner columnist Byron York.

“Bush did not explicitly say so, but he appeared to be referencing January 6.  And he used the rhetorical trick of denying that there was a ‘cultural overlap’ between the 9/11 terrorists and the January 6 rioters.

“There is simply no comparison in scale, act or motivation, or anything else between 9/11 and January 6.  And yet now, a former president suggests that two enormously dissimilar events were actually similar, both coming from ‘the same foul spirit,’” York added.

York noted how Bush now joins a group of leftist commentators who have also cited the similarity in events, obviously to continue their anti-Trump narrative.

Here’s an example from CNN.  “The man who was president during the attacks of September 11, 2001, used a speech commemorating the 20the anniversary of that terrible day to call out the ‘malign force’ coursing through the country thanks to the presidency (past presidency) of Donald Trump.”

MSNBC anchor Nicole Wallace, a former “W” staffer, also saw the similarity between 9/11 and January 6.

Since January 6, the left has charged that it was Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric that caused his supporters to take the nation’s Capitol by insurrection, that  included impeachment that resulted in his acquittal.

Nancy Pelosi has formed a select committee to investigate the January 6, event, which is commonly perceived as a means to keep the story alive as a means to gain Democrat Congressional victories in the midterms.

Kramerontheright has warned Trump supporters that they, as much as the former president himself, are the targets of the left. It all began with Hillary’s reference to you as the “deplorables.”

Evidence that it’s working on the left is born out in the latest Rasmussen poll, in which he reveals that 57 percent of Democrats view Donald Trump supporters as the most serious threat to the nation.  Among all voters, 42 percent view Trump supporters as a threat. Fifty-six percent view unvaccinated Americans, who they believe are Republicans, as the second most serious threat.

Is anyone surprised that climate change did not make the list of eight threats?

I always thought it unusual that the Bush family, with its record of rough and tough politics, could generate such a disdain for Donald Trump.  Bush Sr. became the laughing stock with his “read my lips’ quote, and “W” was regularly ridiculed for his malapropisms.  But Trump’s campaign man-handling of Jeb, considered by many as the anointed one, was a low blow to the Bush family.

“I know Joe Biden to be a good man who has won his opportunity to lead and unify our country.” – George W. Bush, November 8, 2020

How’s that unity thing going for you now, “W”?

The bureaucrats of the Deep State still have their long knives out for Trump because of his pledge to drain the swamp.  It’s imperative that you, and the rest of the 80 million Trump Americans, be vigil and ready to fight for Trump, whether he decides to run himself or support the candidate he endorses in 2024.

In the year ahead, Trump will be working to endorse candidates for victory in the midterms in an effort to return the House and Senate red, and will be counting on your support then as well.

As we close in on the midterms be looking for a new feature, “The Trump Watch.”

Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
