When it comes to facing, defeating terrorism, Obama and Clinton just don’t get it

After scenes from the terrorist bombings in Brussels disappeared briefly from our television screens, we saw clips of President Obama sitting with Raul Castro at a baseball game in Cuba and dancing the tango in Argentina. Even after seven years, I can’t understand how he can be so indifferent and callous with the loss of life to terrorism; not to mention his refusal to call out Muslim radicals. Continue reading

More presidential campaign observations

The Economist, a liberal publication published in the U.K. with a U.S. circulation of about 500,000, has joined the “stop Trump” movement. It considers Donald Trump “unworthy of leading one of the world’s great political parties, let alone America. Mr. Trump has prospered by inciting hatred and violence. He is so unpredictable that the thought of him anywhere near high office is terrifying. He must be stopped.” Continue reading

He’s going to make America great again. He’s going to be the jobs president. We’re going to actually be tired of winning. He’s going to build a beautiful wall. He’s going to rebuild the military and take care of our veterans. We’ve heard it over and over again.

He’s going to change things in Washington DC.

Gov. Chris Christie’s endorsement of Donald Trump yesterday should tell you nothing’s really going to change. It will be business as usual. Continue reading

Trump supporters – are you happy now?

Trump 001

This pullout from a recent comic strip panel by Gary Trudeau says it all.

Yes, I know, you’ve had it with Washington. You helped give the GOP the majority in the Senate, and they didn’t follow through with promises. Along came Donald Trump and you liked what he was saying; political correctness be damned.

I hope you’re happy now, because it appears there’s no turning back. Trump has been allowed to bully his way to several primary victories and two digit leads in most of the state primaries ahead. Continue reading

“I expect the president will spend a significant amount of his time digging into materials prepared for him,” said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.

You will recall that in 2012, President Obama wasted no time to poke fun of Gov. Mitt Romney after he related the story of how women’s groups in Massachusetts brought him binders containing resumes of women when he was seeking to pull together a cabinet that included women. Continue reading
