Biden Right at Home at G-7 Globalization Funfest

Commentary

President Biden had to be delighted that NBC, in its overview of the G-7 Summit, referred to him as “a veteran statesman … who has traveled the world for decades as vice president and as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.”

Of course, the network failed to mention any foreign policy achievements during his travels.… read more

The Biden Administration Unhinged

 Commentary

A day doesn’t go by that I don’t believe we’re going to hell in a handbasket.  Yet, I continue to be optimistic.

President Biden ignores the significance of the anniversary of D-Day, but tells our troops in the UK that global warming is our biggest threat.

GUESS WHO?

Vice President Harris seeks to find the root cause of the migration and the illegal crossing of our southern border without visiting that border; responding to her failure to visit there with one of her nervous laughs, intended to pass it off as unimportant.… read more

A Wannabe Statesman Fails Again, and a Real Statesman Writes of GOP Future

Commentary

CALL IT PROPHETIC, prescient, predictive, or just plain intuition.

The day before the celebration of D-Day, the taking of the Normandy beachhead by Allied Forces, I wrote:

“It is my hope that someone on the White House staff reminds the president of the anniversary of D-Day, and that he pays tribute to those who lost their lives.”read more

The Little-Known Capture of the Pegasus Bridge

Commentary

In my past recognition of the anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion of the beaches of Normandy, June 6, 1944, I wrote of the trip my wife and I took there in 1999.  It is among the most memorable of our trips across Europe.

On this, the 77th anniversary, I decided to tell you about a military mission leading up to the invasion that gets little recognition – the capture and securing of Pegasus Bridge at Benouville, France.… read more

Long before I became interested in politics, I recall listening to Gabriel Heatter, a radio commentator, with my Dad.  With all of the news we are facing, I decided to borrow Heatter’s famous line – “Ah there’s good news tonight” – that he adopted as his catchphrase.… read more

It is Indeed Time to Wake Up, America

                                                             Commentary

At a time when most of us have become weary over what’s happening to our great nation, with the woke mentality, the rewriting of our history, and an administration that is taking us down a path to disaster as it attempts to radically transform our democracy, we do need to wake up.… read more

Granholm A Big Winner in ‘Public Service’

                                                    Commentary

Earlier this month, I wrote about the smug response Jennifer Granholm, Biden’s energy secretary, gave to a reporter who questioned her lack of concern for the significant threat to national security caused by the cyberattack on the Colonial Pipeline, which serves 45 percent of the gasoline and other fuels on the East Coast.… read more

Biden’s Disingenuous Remark as Commander-in-Chief

Commentary

You’ve heard President Biden conclude his speeches with “and may God protect our troops.”  I would hope he’s serious, but how can we believe him when he left out any mention of God in his National Prayer Day proclamation?

Then there’s this. On Friday, as he concluded his remarks to service members and their families during his appearance at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia, I wondered how many in the audience took him seriously when he said:

“It’s my greatest honor … it should not surprise anybody; it should be anybody’s greatest honor in all of life … to be able to serve as your Commander-in-Chief.read more

Biden Making the Road to 2022 Look Promising

Commentary

I know, that headline may be hard to swallow, but some news gives me optimism.

CONTRACT WITH AMERICA II? – I’ve learned that former President Trump has been meeting with his former chief of staff Mark Meadows, Sen. Lindsey Graham and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to begin crafting an agenda along the lines of the GOP’s 1994 Contract with America.… read more
